Week of Compassion Breakfast

First Christian Church 112 East College Street, Georgetown, KY, United States

First Christian Church, DOC Georgetown, traditionally claims February as our Month of Compassion, with the last Sunday designated as Week of Compassion.  As the relief, refugee, and development mission fund of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Week of Compassion works with partners to alleviate suffering throughout the world. Further information about Week of Compassion can be found at: weekofcompassion.org. Throughout February, mission moments will be shared during each Sunday  worship service. On the last Sunday, February 26, we will have a breakfast and program starting at 9:45 in the fellowship hall, followed by collection of the offering for Week of Compassion during the worship service. The Outreach Committee hopes all can attend the breakfast and give to the week of compassion offering on Sunday, February 26.

We’ll also be recording these sessions for viewing later as well. After these sessions, the team will be finalizing an official statement of welcome and inclusion of LGBTQ+ folks that will be presented to the board for affirmation and then to the entire congregation in a congregational meeting.
