Scott Cox
Scott Cox began
his tenure as Senior
Minister of First
Christian Church in
January of 1996. He
considered the move
to Georgetown to be
a homecoming because
he is a graduate of
Georgetown College,
and he grew up in
Lexington. He has
been in ministry
since 1985. Prior to
coming to
Georgetown, he
served the Warsaw
Christian Church in
Warsaw, Kentucky.
In addition to being
minister at First
Christian, Scott
serves on the
Committee on
Ministry for the
Christian Church
(Disciples of
Christ) in Kentucky,
which oversees
candidates who are
pursuing either
ordained or licensed
ministry. He has
also served as Chair
of the Governmental
Affairs Committee
for the
Georgetown-Scott
County Chamber of
Commerce.
Scott holds degrees
from Georgetown
College (B.A),
Southern Baptist
Theological Seminary
(M.Div.), and
Lexington
Theological Seminary
(D.Min.).
Scott and his wife,
Donna, have recently
blended their
families. Together,
they have four
daughters, ranging from age 16
to 20. He is an avid
University of
Kentucky men’s
basketball fan, and
he enjoys reading.
