All-Church Picnic

First Christian Church 112 East College Street, Georgetown, KY, United States

When people journey together, they stop periodically to gather around a table and share a meal.  There are many references in the Bible to Jesus doing just that.  We build and grow relationships with our fellow travelers through food and fellowship, and on September 11 we will have the opportunity to nourish ourselves in support of our congregational value of individual and communal wellness.  After worship that day we will be hosting a fellowship picnic in the side yard in partnership with the Elders.  Fried chicken, baked beans, macaroni and cheese, and slaw will be provided.  If you would like to contribute to the meal, there will be a sign-up sheet in the back hallway for fruit, rolls, desserts, and drinks.  Additionally, The Elders will lead us in some fun around our next faithful steps in the visioning process, there will be games and activities for children and adults, live music, and if the weather cooperates, FOAM!  So, wear your picnic clothes to church and join your church friends on the lawn for an afternoon of fun and fellowship! If you have a canopy that we can borrow to add shade to our picnic, please let Martha Harris marthaharris@mindspring.com) know.

Gathering Place Meal

Our church will be providing the evening meal for the Gathering Place Mission on Thursday, Sept.29. The menu for the meal is sliced ham, green beans, macaroni and cheese, rolls, and cookies. We will also need 2 one-gallon jugs of lemonade, and disposable plates, cups, napkins, and knives and forks for 60-65 people. If you can help by providing a portion of the meal (enough to feed 10-12 people), or paper goods, please contact Cathy or Bob Culbertson.
