Gingerbread House Decorating Contest

December 11th we will have a "gingerbread" house decorating contest. We will get started at 3:00 in Fellowship Hall. All ages welcome to attend. Please sign up on the bulletin board so we have enough materials. Feel free to bring some peppermint sticks, gumballs, sprinkles, and other accoutrements, we will provide graham crackers, marshmallow fluff, and empty milk cartons.

Christmas Eve Worship

Blanket Sunday

On Sunday, January 29, our Disciples Women Fellowship will sponsor our annual Blanket Sunday offering. Donations received will be sent to Church World Service to comfort people around the world as well as the United States by providing blankets for those in need. If you want to donate to this cause, please designate your contribution to "Blanket Sunday" on your check or envelope.

Amen House Collection

Please bring your food donations for the AMEN House collection on February 5! Monetary donations will also be accepted as well. We’ll bless our collection as it will be used to help fight food insecurity in Scott County.

Open and Affirming Worship Service

The next steps in our process of becoming an officially Open and Affirming congregation involves a worship service on February 12 focusing on God’s expansive welcome and inclusion, with our own Rev. Christy Messick sharing her story.

Open and Affirming Reflection

The team will then offer 4 weeks of opportunities to learn, reflect, and engage on Sunday mornings at 9:45 in the chapel and Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. in the Conference room (each of these 2 opportunities are identical). We’ll also be recording these sessions for viewing later as well. After these sessions, the team will be finalizing an official statement of welcome and inclusion of LGBTQ+ folks that will be presented to the board for affirmation and then to the entire congregation in a congregational meeting.
